Denali Aspens Fall Color
Denali Aspens Fall Color is a photograph taken along the Denali Park and Preserve Road. Denali Aspens Fall Color was captured at the peak of fall color.
The conditions were perfect to capture the fall color of the Alaska interior on the Denali Park and Preserve Road. During the first week of September the Denali Aspens Fall Color was just one of many beautiful landscapes to be seen. The cloudy fall sky provided a beautiful diffused light to capture the Denali Aspens Fall Color scene.
The six million acres that make up the Denali Park and Preserve is bisected by one road. The road ends extends deep into the Park till it reaches Kantishna at milepost 89. After mile 15 the road can only be traveled by buses that service visitors to the Park and Preserve. Traveling to the end of the road can take up to 12 hours. Visitors are allowed to use the bus system to access hiking and camping along the road. You can get off or get on the bus at whatever point you like with your ticket purchased at the Visitor Center.
Denali Aspens Fall Color was taken at a spot at the beginning of the Denali Park Road. Just up the road from the Park Visitor Center the road climbs in elevation. There are beautiful views of the surrounding mountains, valleys and forest on this section of the road. The forest was filled with color at this time of year. Reds and oranges colored the ground cover and the aspen trees were colored in gold. There are not many aspens to see, but those that one could see were lit up from the diffused light. Cloud cover provided this diffused light that a photographer loves to have when photographing fall foliage.
The tripod was setup, the Nikon D100 mounted with an 80-200 mm lens and Denali Aspens Fall Color was captured.
