Dry Creek Valley Moonrise

Dry Creek Valley Moonrise is a photograph I took in the Dry Creek Valley of Northwestern Sonoma County. Along with being home to many of the top wineries in Sonoma County, the Dry Creek Valley is a beautiful landscape.  Dry Creek Moonrise captures the landscape of the valley in the fall at full moon.

Wineries in California and the vineyards in California provide an interesting subject for photography. California vineyards are especially beautiful in the fall.  The vineyards in California provide a change in color to the normal grasslands of the California landscape.

The splash of color among the dry creek valley vineyards in the Dry Creek Valley Moonrise were just beginning to peak.  Fall photos of the autumn foliage in California vineyards can always be captured in the month of November as in the Dry Creek Valley Moonrise.

The moonrising in Dry Creek Valley Moonrise occurred just after sunset. The moon phase and the full moon were carefully planned out for when to capture the Dry Creek Valley Moonrise.

The location to take the Dry Creek Valley Moonrise was carefully planned out to capture the full moon above these vineyards in California. I wanted a place that was above the dry creek valley. It was hard to find but I eventually found my location that provided the view I was seeking.

I have written before about the Dry Creek Valley. It is a favorite location of mine. The Dry Creek Valley is an American Viticultural Area in Sonoma County California. The valley was formed by Dry Creek which is a tributary of the Russian River. The Dry Creek Valley is 16 miles long and 2 miles wide. The autumn foliage of the Cabernet Sauvignon and Zinfandel grapes provide beautiful opportunities for fall photos of California vineyards.

Dry Creek Valley Moonrise captures these fall colors and a full moon rising above one of the most beautiful valley of vineyards in California.
