Lone Ranch Beach Sunset
Lone Ranch Beach Sunset I experienced on a sunset photography opportunity along the Oregon Coast.
Lone Ranch Beach Sunset I took at the end of a day of exploring the coastal scenery around Brookings, Oregon.
Lone Ranch Beach is easily located 4 and a half miles north of Brookings. There are collections of sea stacks jutting from an ocean whose color changes from hour to hour as the sun, clouds and lighting varies. This part of the Oregon coast has more of these impressive off-shore rock piles than almost any other spot on the Pacific Coast. They offer a rugged contrast to the flatness and color of the ocean.
The weather was incredible along the Oregon Coast. 70 degrees and clear skies. The views of the coastline were spectacular and it seemed as though you could see forever. I was hunkered down for the Labor Day weekend in a beautiful Forest Service campground along the Winchuck River about 11 miles inland from Brookings, Oregon.
I went out for a Lone Ranch Beach Sunset to end the day. I experimented with some HDR, my Neutral Density filter…but in the end the best shot used an old, traditional way. With a Nikon 60 mm Micro lens shot straight at the setting sun with a “star effect” created by the great optics of this lens.
Lone Ranch Beach Sunset was a great way to end a beautiful day along the Oregon Coast.
