Snowy Egret Bodega Bay
Snowy Egret Bodega Bay is a photograph of a common bird seen along the shores of Bodega Bay in Sonoma County California.
Snowy Egret Bodega Bay was taken on a winter day with a cloudy sky above. The cloudy sky provided a beautiful diffused light that allowed for many of the fine details of the Snowy Egret to be captured in the image. The cloudy conditions also produced a low light level that contributed to making capturing of Snowy Egret Bodega Bay challenging.
This Snowy Egret needed to remain still with little movement to allow Snowy Egret Bodega Bay to be photographed. The Snowy Egret participated by remaining still with little movement.
Bodega Bay is one of the best locations in Sonoma County to view wildlife, specifically shorebirds. In the middle of winter up to 100 different species of birds can be seen on the shoreline or on the Bay water. By this time of year any birds you see are settling down for a winter stay in Bodega Bay.
Snowy Egrets are often seen closely to shore as they look for prey. Snowy Egrets are often mistaken for Great Egrets but they are different birds. As like the Snowy Egret Bodega Bay picture the Snowy Egret is small, has a wispy crest, and has black legs with golden yellow feet. The Snowy Egret is also more active while hunting.
I found the Snowy Egret Bodega Bay in this image sitting on a rock along the shore of Bodega Bay. I parked my car and turned off the engine hoping that my vehicle would not scare the bird. He remained on the rock undisturbed by my presence. I set my camera on the window ledge of my door and clicked away. The Snowy Egret posed for me perfectly.
And Snowy Egret Bodega Bay was captured as a photograph.
